M&S partners with World Food Photography Awards to celebrate emerging talent

M&S Food has partnered with the World Food Photography Awards sponsored by Tenderstem® Bimi® Broccolini - the leading global celebration of food photography - to launch a new award championing emerging talent.

The M&S Food Rising Star award aims to help a new generation of food photographers break through to the next level. Entrants need to submit a selection of five images per portfolio, showing a range of beautiful, irresistible studio styled images of food.

The winner will receive the commission food photographers dream about: an invitation to shoot an advertising campaign for M&S Food.

“We work with some amazing food photographers who do incredible work for us, bringing the M&S Food vision to life,” says Rich Robinson, Head of Creative, M&S Food. “But now we’re excited to give the next generation a platform to help them make the leap into professional photography.”

“This is such an exciting new award,” says Caroline Kenyon, Founder of the Awards. “When we first launched in 2011, I was determined we should have the involvement of M&S as the great patron of the best in food photography, and was delighted their Food Director became a judge. What a wonderful opportunity for the lucky winner!”

The World Food Photography Awards sponsored by Tenderstem® Bimi® Broccolini, now in its 15th year, is widely recognised as the ‘Oscars of food photography’. It invites amateur and professional photographers alike to share their captures of food stories from all around the world. With over 25 categories, the Awards recognise that food touches lives in a diversity of ways - from growing, harvesting and cooking, to eating, celebrating and surviving.

All finalist images, including those of the M&S Food Rising Star, will be exhibited at the prestigious Mall Galleries in London. A hand-picked selection of finalist images will also be displayed at the iconic Fortnum & Mason store in Piccadilly.
